My Dahlia kit just arrived for the upcoming class and it is stunning! My question is whether we will be knitting from the cones or should the yarns be wound and caked? This is my first time knitting with this very special ITO silk yarn and it’s simply beautiful! Thank you MDK!
Oh good question. I am anxious to get started but did not even think of that. Assumed from the cone ??? Mine is the rocky earth and I was just looking at it again last night.! So soft !
And I ordered ocean waves. It is a gorgeous yarn.
I’m going out on a limb here, but feel confident that it will be cone knitting…
@cmcymp
Thank you. I’m overthinking!
I had the same question so I asked by email a few weeks ago. Kay responded, saying that you can do it either way.
I’ve been wondering the same thing – especially how to know how much to wind in a ball when we want to hold two strands of the same color.
I’m thinking of putting the cones into yarn bowls to hold them up.
I am using a Della Q Oh Snap bag to hold the cones that i am using. Works great.
A wine bag is a great idea! Right now my cones are standing in their originall MDK box that is also working so far.
Genius!!! I think I have one of these.
More questions!
- Will the shawl pattern be added to Ravelry, or should I just link to the blanket pattern?
- Would Cecelia be willing to share the color numbers she would have used for the potential “4th kit” that would play with green and olive colors?
Best idea ever ! It works so well !
Those are the EXACT words I was about to type
So Great to see!! With black& white the horizontals and verticals are a surprise! Really fun! Thanks for posting pic. I’m making the dahlia kit and will try to share a photo.
Finally decided my color order (which still may change) and got started.
Cayenne and Chili Pepper = Cream of tomato soup I think!
Love that combo! Cream of Tomato Soup!
