We are a small (6) knitting group in Santa Barbara who took your “Team Afghan “ idea and paired up with Habitat for Humanity to make Afghans as housewarming gifts for those locals finally moving into their new homes. Thanks for the inspiration!! We will have 4 completed by the end of November!!

Wow, that’s fantastic—four blankets is quite a lot for a group of six! And I love the textures of these squares. Fun to make, too. What is the edging?

The edging is crocheting. We trade off ordering the yarn and now are knitting in strips to minimize the sewing together. Since we all knit all the time, a 5 square strip is reasonable still leaving time for personal knitting! Thanks for the encouragement!!
