Hi Friends,
I’m seeing so many cute baskets popping up on social media. Here’s a space where you can show your finished Calliope Baskets, or anything else you make with your beautiful Flax & Twine raffia.
Let’s go!
Hi Friends,
I’m seeing so many cute baskets popping up on social media. Here’s a space where you can show your finished Calliope Baskets, or anything else you make with your beautiful Flax & Twine raffia.
Let’s go!
I’ll start! Here’s mine, starting with Olive helping me, then the start of the side shaping, then 2 views of my humble finished basket.
Pretty pleased with my first basket. It’s so sturdy—I thought it would be wobblier. I just started my second one, yellow and pink. So much easier this time. I am doing my stitches by putting the needle in via the front side, then wrapping up from the back side. The first one I did the opposite. This way seems easier for aiming the next stitch.
These are all beautiful, I love the variety!
WOW.
I love the spiral…
Here’s my attempt. I had a great time trying something new and it did feel alot like summer camp. I ran out of my green sooner than expected.
Here’s my first one! Started on my second. What a blast! I’m having so much fun exploring this new skill.
I love your experimentation with shaping!
I’m saving this combo for my third attempt! I am not usually a fan of pink but this is just delightful. I hadn’t considered the spiral that can result!”
Lovely form! Such a smooth transition in the shaping.
Thanks. Truly accidental
Not my color jam usually either, but thinking of fairs. My dd says it’s for Easter bunny!
Nice shape. Will hold a bunch!
Beautiful!
