Pompom in bulky yarn

How many wraps are recommended for pompom for hat knit out of bulky yarn?

This will be my 4th attempt. I used an entire skein of yarn making awful looking pompoms.
Now, I have the Loome. all instructions are for worsted weight.

Hi! Were you able to have any luck with the Loome and bulky yarn?

I just made a pom pom with the loom and Rowan bulky yarn - I did slightly more than half of the worsted recommended - around 90 - and it turned out great!
