Some small rocks from my yard, gave them a bath and dried before becoming gnome butts.
Did anyone just skip the weights and the cardboard circle on the bottom?
What a terrific idea!
I was struggling with the dpn’s during the class, so I grabbed a long circular and continued using magic loop instead – so much easier (for me, anyway)! Once I ditched the dpns, the gnomes are flying off my needles!
I use Flexiflips for my gnomes and love them.
For filling, I bought crushed gravelly stuff (not sure the material but I think it’s for potting plants). I also bought a box of hose used for trying on shoes. I put the gravel in the hose, tie it off and stuff. Works pretty well and I’m set for the rest of my life
I use two short circulars.
Here are my Four Seasons of Gnomes! I made Summer during class, and his three friends magically appeared over the weekend. What a fun class - thanks to everyone involved in bringing it to us! There will definitely be a gnome free-for-all, now that my seasonal gnomes (an idea that hatched while I was knitting the first one) are done.
OH MY GNOME I love the bottle topper idea! The perfect festive hostess gift, and even less knitting! Liz you win Christmukkah this year!
My sweet summer child, we always leave the ends inside things that have an inside!
Way to gear up!
Thanks Kay!
Also, I am a bit out of control with these Gnomes! Seriously, I have made 12 so far. My latest thought is that I will put one at each Thanksgiving place setting for the big meal.
Try a contrasting nose! Really easy and cute! She has a video for it!
Loved this class. All I want to do is knit gnomes. Kept my sanity during an MRI this morning by thinking up new designs!
Gorgeous!!
I couldn’t attend in person, but I really enjoyed the recording. I have to mention what a lovely kit this is. It’s so much fun to play with all these colors. I used clothespins to make little bobbins out of the mini-hanks. I’m keeping all of the supplies and yarn in a basket so I don’t have to hunt for anything when the gnome knitting urge strikes. Here’s a photo of my basket and the gnome I knit during class. His name is Gnormie…he’s a bit of a curmudgeon, but he likes hot coffee, glazed donuts and good books…so he can’t be too much of a grouch.
uh-oh, I missed the class. Is there any way to see the video or a way to do a make up? sounds so fun.
