Gnome for the Holidays Virtual Class

I was able to get most of my first gnome finished using Sarah’s YouTube videos and finished up the rest with the link to the class. Feeling pretty pleased with how he came out. I’ve now mastered DPNs, and on something small and fiddly no less!

I think there’s a mistake in the class instructions for the arm. If one follows the directions given, the arm would be sewn on at the hand! Instead, leave a 6” tail when the arm is begun for sewing onto the body & when finished with the hand (C3), work in the ends, then sew on the arm using the 6” of yarn in the tail where the arm was started.

Your ‘kit’ is way more organized than mine, but it’s a great idea. You never know when you are going to have to make a gnome!

What a fun choice for the contrast color nose! Are your gnomes producing a little cider as a hobby?

I had so much fun at the workshop! My Gnoha still needs his beard and arms sewn on but I did knit the pattern and I now have Gnorma Gean Gnome. Gnorma Gean is a former silent movie star aching to make it in the talkies. She loves to be the center of attention and show off her magnificent beard. She is auditioning for every winter movie and play she can.

I knit her for an adoption fundraiser that friends are having to help fund their wish to grow their family. I hope she finds a good gnome friendly home on Saturday!

So very cute!

This is Norbie Gnome! He will be living in my 1st grade classroom for the Holiday season! Each day Norbie will be somewhere new, and the kids will have to find him!

I wanted to watch the video one more time, but I guess it has been zapped. Rats!

Thank you!

It should be available until November 24. Maybe contact MDK or try the link again.

Your gnome is so so cute. I love the colors and the little charm dangling from her hat. Great job.

I found it–thank you. Not sure why I could not find it before, oh well. Thanks again!

My gang…It’s quite addicting. I’m going to try to make a tree next. They need a Christmas tree!

Thank you!

Finally got my Gnoha from class his beard and arms. I’m working on another for my MIL’s stocking. I’m considering knitting a second one out of Malabrigo Rasta for my husband’s stocking AND I’m waiting for Dec 1st so I can cast on Mr. Gnightly. I think I caught the gnome bug, LOL!

Thanks for a really fun class and a beautiful kit!

Meet (G)Nels. Christmas presents for my Aunts. I saw a similar gnome the first time I looked at the “Never not Gnoming” Instagram page. I couldn’t find it again so I created my own.
