Do you want us to list you and Arne and Carlos as # hashtags in our posts or actually tag you in the posts or both? I have been a browser on Instagram for a while, but posting is new to me. I am just realizing that tagging and hashtags are not the same.
I love this pattern design and yarn, and the colors are gorgeous!

Beautiful color choices!

Your hat looks fabulous on the back side. I never say “wrong side” since the word is a strong one. My hat too fit too small. It does fit my husband since he is a small person. I’m the opposite. So the next one I make, I’ll increase the needle size and concentrate more on loosing up the floats. Great job!

Handsome colors! Good job!

Love the colors you choose and nicely done! There is so much to be said about using only 2 to 3 color combo. It really works out well!

Knitting is suppose to be enjoyable. So for you and how you knit is perfect for you. I’ve noticed that I hold the main color (the most color in the row) with my right hand as I do English method. And the Norwegian purl, I find I move my left wrist more than what I want to. So at times I do it and other times I don’t. Please don’t stress your brain! LOL Go for it!

Love your colors!

As Stephen West says, “Just say yes, don’t stress!” Whatever works for you is the right way.

Now that Arne & Carlos extended this knit along, I decided to knit another hat with the leftover yarn. Maybe later, I will knit the gloves as well. This time, I decided to use the rose pink as the background color. Still trying to work the best way to use the gold yarn with the other colors. This is a lot of fun and learning.

Thank you! Lindy

Thank you so much for your opinion on my color choices! Lindy

I just used an especially beautiful oyster shell to help me put together colors for a different hat. Love the heart rock, moonshell, and the knitting of course!

Such a fun knit! My hat came out a wee bit small on the 2 and 4 needles as many others noted. Arne must be a loose knitter because Carlos’ hat was too small too. It will fit someone though.

WOW! I looked in my bag and found Henry! He finished Arne & Carlos’ Setesdal hat! He loved doing it and wants to knit another one for me! This one goes to a dear friend of mine!

I’ve received official approval. Great pattern, terrific yarn, and the MDK KAL added fun to cruising with Arne and Carlos. Love my new hat!

Like that you added repeats. I added one repeat, but not sure how to figure the decreases. What worked for you? Thanks.

With two additional repeats (28 sts) it was easy to do the decreases.I began with 140 stitches. I had 5 columns of decreases across the crown (and 5 markers) instead of 4 so I decreased 10 stitches on each decrease round instead of the 8 decreases mentioned in the pattern. For the last decrease round when I had 20 stitches left I did 5 k2tog before each marker and closed the hole at the top with 15 stitches instead of 16.

With the one extra repeat you say you made you would have started with 125 sts so you could divide that with 5 markers too. Decreasing by 10 sts each decrease round you would automatically get down to 15 stitches.

Hope that helps
