Squad Mitts Leftovers: What to Make?

Loving the Squad Mitts in Hazel Knits Artisan Sock, especially the lovely kits from the MDK store! Even after making a couple of pairs of mitts, there will be plenty of yarn leftover so I thought I’d throw this out to the Community for suggestions on something color-block-ish to go with the mitts. Four colors of fingering weight, and I could scrounge up a background color too.
Thanks!!

Yes! I’m thinking colorblock socks would be the next easy thing to make with the Hazel Knits Artisan. Or socks with one-row stripes of varying colors. Stripes are on my mind these days.

Ditto the many-striped socks. It will be fun to come up with stripe sequences. Now that it’s snowing, I’m also thinking about more mitts, and gloves too. I’ve made a pair of hounds-tooth check gloves that would look pretty swell in combinations of color way three.

I did it the other way around. I used the Squad Mitts kit to knit Westknits MKAL Building Blocks and am now using the leftovers to make a pair of matching squad mitts - using some of the same stripes as the shawl in my mitts.

So cheerful, Francie! I love this–and man, you’re a fast knitter!

Wow, what a great idea! I 'm just knitting along on the #4 squad mitts, doing my real 1st attempt with DPNs. This fiber is heavenly plus forgiving; when I picked up the mitt after a tea break & started knitting the opposite direction.

Sally Melville has a sock yarn metered square sweater I may do with these leftovers plus some others. A new dog walker just got added to the rotation, so need more mitts than I’ll have yarn for.

A friend sent me this link today, and it could be interesting as a point of departure, using all the leftovers for random stripes: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ticking-stripe-wrap But, maybe knit in the round like this one: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/objects-in-space

I suggest Scrappies, a sock pattern by Adrienne Fong (Bellybuttonknits on Ravelry) http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/scrappie

I have a thing about symmetry, so my first pair were knit from self striping yarn, but this pattern was designed to be used with your sock yarn leftovers. If you scroll through the projects, you’ll find lots of fun inspiration.

My second pair, knit from two skeins of Claudia Handpaints and one of Koigu, has been on hold for a few months as I’ve been slogging through test and Xmas projects. As soon as the last gift is complete, these are the first WIPs I will work on, even though I have projects in more luxurious yarns begging to be knit, simply because the pattern is SO COOL.
