Since February 1 is right around the corner, I’d like to at least get a better understanding of how to start the Kiki Mariko rug. Why would I be pulling from center and outside of brown to start? thanks

I was curious about that too but it’s basically just for overall consistency- essentially knitting in the same pattern you’ll be using for the rest of the rug (stranded knitting) but you just happen to only use a single color for that first row, if that makes sense.

What changes were made to the updated pattern? I have the Outside the Lines book and was planning to use the pattern in it. Thanks

I heard that the updated version has fewer stitches in each row, not sure why!

If the original has more stitches and is larger, can someone post the #stitches and dimensions? I’m planning on making mine larger…

My guess is that the update has one fewer repeat because yarn may have run out for some knitters?
I have to say this is a great place to mention how handy a gram scale is!
I weighed a ball of worsted (which I am going to knit doubled) and will weigh it again after working 8 rounds of pattern. Then I will have a really good idea of the mileage.
