Such beautiful colors!
Thank you, Ann! I have been wearing it a lot lately!
Awesome start to your sweater, and cutie sheep! Tough decision that only your gut can make
Love the colors, very nice!
I wasn’t sure about knitting a dickie, but my friend laughed and said her Mum would like one. Pat turns 80 today, and her dickie was blocked last night. Now, of course, I totally want to make one for myself!
Pretty colors. What a lovely gift.
I’m also trying to knit long sleeves, and without the ability to try it on, it’s difficult to measure. How long did you make your sleeves? Your colors are lovely.
I love the shark tail!
Stashbusted some old skeins – stranded a single ply sw merino/silk/cashmere fingering with a double-ply sw merino fingering. CO 70 ST, so it knit up pretty quickly. Loved the sequence pattern. Going to be a go to for spring weather.
I think I will try for three quarter length sleeves. I only have one sleeve done and am fairly certain I am going to take it out and make the body wider and reknit the sleeve. With the 3/4 length sleeve the length won’t be as critical. I’m saving my spectra knitting for a trip I’m making end of February because my yarn is half cotton and not as warm as a wool project. Seeing your sweater does make me want to knit it and find a different project for my travels.
Finished! Perfect timing for my best friend’s birthday. This pretty baby is flying to the UK tomorrow (post blocking). Made the back a bit longer so needed to improvise on the last few rows of the neck. Actually like how it ties the pink back in to match the back. I’ll definitely knit other one, or two, or three of these!
I don’t think I would have had much success without my checklist that I wrote row by row. I think your idea for 3/4 sleeve is how mine will be. I usually like a sleeve to the wrist.
Oh man, so my knitting got a bit thrown off by life, as my partner and I bought our first home and moved earlier this month! It’s been very exciting, but it means there has been very little time for knitting.
I’m finally getting ready to wrap up my Color Explosion Throw. I have a blocking question though, and apologies if this has already been asked. For those who have blocked and finished their Color Explosion Throw, did you pin out each of the strips or did you just soak it and then lay it out flat to dry? I don’t have a big enough surface to be able to pin the strips out and am planning on just letting it dry flat, but I’d love to hear what other peoples experiencing blocking larger projects like this has been.
Hello! I am wondering if it works to use other Isager yarns for the marled projects in the current field guide. I have a lot of Isager single and 2 ply - Spinni, Alpaca 1 and 2, Wool 1 - but no Tvinni. All of what I have on hand are good for combining together, I think that was the original intention when I acquired it. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Cheers and happy knitting!
As long as you can get gauge (for a garment) and a fabric you like, use anything you want!
The front of my Swarf is finished!
I love how soft and squishy Tynd is. I do wish I’d gotten color
22 or 23 instead of the cream-colored 21, as the value contrast is a lot stronger. But not enough to order, frog, and redo
Beautiful yarn and a beautiful FO
Oh, you are so close to coming up and enjoying your blanket! I used felted tweed and blocked my strips as I finished them, pinning the edges to the same dimensions for each strip. There was slight (maybe an inch) pull when pinning. I was mostly concerned about the edges for seaming—my first time with the suggested seaming. The yarn you used may play into how it blocks. If you have all the strips to block at once, you could see how they dry without pinning and if you can easily see to seam. If you’re not happy how it dries, maybe spray/wet just the edges and pin to redry. Good luck!
I think it looks awesome
