Yarn Substitute for Calligraphy?

I am looking for a yarn substitute for the calligraphy sweater. Live in the Southwest and am concerned the suggested Periwinkle Sheep Marino DK will be too warm. Suggestions?

I’m using Clousbirn 100% Pima cotton. It’s a DK weight. Also Rowan original denim, a 100% cotton yarn, is available from a few sources if you just Google it. I git mine from WoolWarehouse in England. International shipping was very reasonable! That’s what Kay used for her sweater.

I’m using Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece. In an effort to try to work from my stash, I decided to go with that. Nice stitch definition and a slightly lighter fabric for a spring/summer sweater.
