Finally got my yarn and started the first miter - so fun!!! Making first blocks with these colors, and may do another set with the aqua and navy if I have time before the deadline
Oh thanks that helps so much! I couldnāt see the lighter variegate mixed in before until I saw your miter. Oram I getting confused between the two skeins? Since itās my āframeā Iām looking for a solid for sure.
Thanks for helping me decide all the thumbnail pics, my local LYSs donāt seem to carry it.
Oh no itās not varied - Iām fading the two colours for my background in the miter. The brown is solid.
I know, my LYS doesnāt have them either so I also had to make thumbnail decisions! Turned out pretty well, but itās much nicer getting to see what theyāre like in other peopleās photos.
Hi there! i sent an email yesterday but not sure it went though. Hereās my email address for sending the pattern.

Had another great day today! A friend of mine runs estate sales and I got a call from him last week because, as he said, āI donāt know what the f*ck to do with all this stuff.ā Turns out, the woman who had owned the house owned a needlepoint shop. I went over and took a look at it all, gave him some advice and emailed the local needlepoint guild.
Seriously, if there was West Side Story about knitters vs. needlepointers, the needlepointers would kick our butts. They were amazing! Lovely women, extremely organized and laser focused.
I got a ton of yarn but itās all still in the car because, Lordloveaduck, it rained today. It was biblical. I think itās still raining and I know I got so soaked that hours later, my hair is still wet.
Weāve got some new members in our group so Iām going to head over to my email to make sure theyāve got everything they need to get started.
Have you gone and visited our sister teams? If not, give a little toootle through their threads here on The Lounge. There are some beautiful color combos and lost of loveliness to check out.
Sunday in my house is for knitting and binging. Tomorrow Iām going through this whole wonderful thread and through my email box to make sure Iāve followed up with everything. Iām going to binge somethingānot sure what yetāand knit all day.
Anyone else have big plans?
Karen Iām currently bingeing on Endeavour, which is just glorious. If you havenāt watched it yet Iād highly recommend it!
I had a wonderfully lazy afternoon knitting, and have Made Progress. Iād planned to fade through the background (inspired by the original Noro) but realized that wonāt work in the log edging - I still think (hope!) that it looks ok.
Karen: will you confirm the size of the finished square? Thanks
Iām looking for a portable project for the next few weeks so Iād love to contribute a square or two. Iāll be looking at the whole discussion for tips and direction, but Iāll need the pattern when you have time to send it. Thanks so much! My email is lissanewman104@gmail.com.
Itās gorgeous and the corners are so clever!
Well Leah, the deal was that whoever blocked and finished first would determine our final size. We have a winner! Once youāve washed and blocked it, share it here for everyone!
P.S. Love those colors!
P.P.S. I love this pattern too!
Itās gorgeous! Canāt wait to see the finished square.
READ THIS NOW: Weāve got a Junior Varsity team! I saw some posts from knitters who werenāt yet ready to go for the miters so I started "Team Blanket No. 2.1. Itās 12 inch garter stitch squares. Gauge is 4.5 stitches to the inch. Cast on 54 stitches. Count the cast on as the first row and then knit 107 rows to get 54 ridges. Bind off. Sew in the ends. Wash, block and mail.
There will be lots of help and a tutorial for those who are probably ready for a miter but just donāt know it yet. Pop over, say hello, and cheer on the newbies. I kind of feel like this is the knitting equivalent of coming home with a kitten.
You may have noticed that thereās a headline on this post. I edited my opening post with the details. We have a lot of posts on this group and wonderful people are still joining so the all caps headline will help people find the things that are helpful.
In other news, my Sunday has been an enigma. Lazy and productive all at the same time. Iāve neglected my house, Iām enamored with my knitting and thereās a regular life to be lived out there. If Gordon Ramsey showed up in my kitchen today, he would make me cry.
So the day has gone like this:
Wash some dishes.
Knit.
Wash more dishes.
Knit.
Go to the store.
Wash more dishes.
Knit.
Get all the stuff from the estate sale out of the car. (It was raining too hard yesterday. Wet wool is nobodyās friend.)
Knit.
Wash more dishes.
Check the underwear drawer.
Donāt do laundry.
Wash more dishes.
Knit.
You get the idea. I never got to my planned binge watching but I put the Hallmark Channel on for company. I love seeing who is in them. Today there was one with Lindsay Wagner and Lee Majors. And of course they fell in love (as happens in all Hallmark movies.) The Bionic Woman and the Bionic Manāhappy at last.
Oh Karen! I just started knitting with size 8 needles and Lambs Pride yarn. I didnāt remember to check the gauge. Iām starting the border on my Square now and got out the gauge thingy. Itās 9 stitches to 2 in, so thatās four and a half stitches to 1 inch yes? Iām so used to knitting things that donāt need gauge that I didnāt even measure and feel very silly now, but I think itās okay (let me know if it isnāt?!).
Diane thatās perfect. Youāre a gauge goddess!
Diane you rock!! Iām from the newly formed JV Team 2.1 Canāt wait to get my Lambs Pride and swatch!! Just ordered it today. Iāll post pics when it arrives
One more side to complete (worked while watching The Guernsey Literary and Potato Pie Peel Society on Netflix). #mdkteamblanket2
Itās beautiful!!!
