Hi Patty! So sorry for the tech problems–glad you’re in! xoxox
Count me in!
I’m also in for the transom cardigan, but I like to keep a pair of socks going at all times. They’re so portable, not to mention magical. I heels!
Stash envy😍
Well, I started crocheting some granny squares a couple weeks before this was announced, but I figure I can still come alongside this craft-along? I have both these field guides, I love all the socks, and I’ve had picket fence on my list since the guide came out, so I’m excited to see everyone’s work. I knit about 90% of the time, but now and again, I get a hankering to crochet. I’ve been working on a few knit sweaters recently, and in the midst of sleeve island on one, dealing with a size issue and a need to frog on another… I needed some mindless granny squares. It happened that the 3 yarns I chose were named Shipwreck (barnyard knits), Island (malabrigo) and volcano (malabrigo). Shipwrecked on an island with a volcano? Feels very 2020. 20200524_121636|375x500
I’m doing the aqua variation. It’s a kit I picked up at the designer’s shop last year on the I-91 Shop Hop. It’s an awesome shop.
Bring It on! We need more granny squares In here. : )
Thanks Ann:) I got that idea from the designer who did this in a personal project with spin cycle yarn, which is basically like handspun.
Unfortunately no picture but I finished a pair of socks for a friend the week before last using Yorkshire Spinners Blossom. Very Happy Sock Yarn. Rather than doing a standard 2x2 rib for the cuff I used a twisted rib and found the structure and finish to be great. I am going to start all my socks this way going forward.
For knit along I am working up some more socks and a blanket. Pics to follow at some point fingers crossed.
Happy Knitting All
Em
OK just decide to join this these socks were started last week and it’s my first foray into magic loop which I was loving but loved less with problems at the heel turn but loving again now since sorted. The yarn is some long ago stashed Regia 4ply. It’s cheap and colourful just wish it had less nylon but can’t have it all.
Plain knitting as it is very patterned any way. Also like my legs a little longer so adjusted that.
Didn’t mean to send this to you sorry I’m a little technically challenged to say the least! what i meant to say was I usually do about 20 rows for the cuff I think about 2" then 54 rows for the leg which is about 6" and I’m only short 5’2" but I like that length. I think for a short sock about 1 1/2" and then about twenty rows for the leg but that would be dependent on your height possibly I sent you the previous reply as that was still open because I was trying to figure out how to upload a photo:)
Twisted rib is such a cool texture. Love this idea. Is it more snug a fit than regular 2x2 rib?
I am finishing my second sock from the Signature Needles Art KAL. Now I know where I will head from there. Crazy path I am following these days.
I would say slightly but it seems to stretch ok and from this first experiment I am thinking it will retain shape better after a couple of washes.
I’m on the short side but tend to knit my socks 6-6.5 inches including cuff before starting heel flap. It’s all about personal preference.
Wow - I’m so happy I’m not the only one - created quite a stack in some of the weirdest color combos - love them - I’m so excited for your adventure
I am having a hard time figuring out how to make an original post with picture of my project - don’t want to hijack someone else’s post.
Hi! I’m trying to figure out how this Lounge works, so excuse me! I am “math challenged” by I want to do the blanket KAL. How much yarn do I need - like how many skeins, balls, whatever? I have the pattern. Sorry if this is a dumb question
I’m in! Time to finish my Uneek Christmas socks from last year. One is ready for a toe, the other on its way. Yarn purchased from my local LYS, hope that’s ok. I named them Sock 1 and Sock 2, and always knit them at the same time.
your PF is just beautiful. Never thought about just keeping going. makes for less work at the end. Think I will start that.
Hooray! We’re glad that you’re here!
I think that the recommendation is 16 balls of the MC and 11 of the CC as well as one each of the 3 pop colors, if you are making Picket Fence with Rowan Handknit Cotton.
Handknit Cotton has 2 yards less per skein that the Denim does.
